I was born in Baton Rouge in 1979, moved around the Southeast a bunch and watched people come and go. Some left permanently, others came back.
After underperforming in high school it took 5 years to graduate from Appalachian State University. Since then, it’s been all about work and love. The rest is life.
I like my hometown. It’s got thick air in the summer and clear blue skies in winter. Sadly, Mooresville looks less and less like the home I knew each time I go back. Might have to do with carpetbaggers.
As a pro I’ve interviewed people in India, met with future heads of state and walked into dive bars that would make many say “ick”. I know how to get rid of a tick, and can talk to a mother who just lost her child. And if you give me enough time, I’ll probably figure out a way to figure it out.
Off the clock I read, write, watch, walk, sip and eat. Friends, family and Kathleen (yo!) get the vast majority of that spare time.
Greensboro is my home, and has been for several years. If you wanna see the other stuff I write, go here.
These days I’m just trying to keep it simple.
