You heard it here first. A source close to the team’s business operations told me today that the Carolina Panthers signed former receiver Muhsin Muhammad today. I’m not sure of the contract details yet, and the Panthers generally like to announce their new signings formally, so we’ll update this when I get more. I’m also not a sports reporter, so I’m not calling up Marty Hurney. So, this is unconfirmed by the team, but I’ll bet it’s true.
UPDATE: This is what the Charlotte Observer had on it this morning. (2/27)

It might happen, but I doubt it has happened yet: The trading and free-agent-signing period doesn’t begin until Friday.
